Dr. Susan Yarnall - Veterinarian

Susan Yarnall

Dr. Susan has had a lifelong passion for animals, beginning her career in veterinary medicine at just 13 years old when she started working at a veterinary clinic. Shortly before starting 10th grade, she moved to Louisiana and later graduated from Broadmoor High School in 1983. She continued working as a veterinary technician while pursuing her education and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2000.

Her love for animals extends far beyond the clinic. Under the kennel name Genesis Brussels Griffon, Dr. Susan has spent more than 35 years showing and preserving the Brussels Griffon breed, producing numerous champions along the way.

Dr. Susan enjoys every aspect of veterinary medicine, with special interests in reproduction, pediatrics, internal medicine, and exotic animals. One of the most rewarding parts of her career has been the lasting relationships she has built with her clients, many of whom she considers extended family.

At home, she shares her life with her husband, Tim, and her son, Garrett. Their home is filled with four cats, several dogs—mostly Brussels Griffons—and her beloved turtles and tortoises.

For the past 26 years, Dr. Susan has proudly served the Livingston Parish community. She deeply values the friendships and connections she has made over the years and is excited to welcome both new and longtime clients to her new home at Walker Animal Hospital.
